Recital Performance

The Turning Pointe encourages all students to work towards a professional performing career when motivated to do so. Our instructors are all experienced professional dancers who have danced and taught both nationally and internationally. We make every effort to develop within our students the proper tools and skills necessary to compete once they venture out into the world of professional dance. All students will have the opportunity to perform in the end of the year dance recital. The purpose of this year end performance is to provide students with the opportunity to perform on stage in a professional setting with lights, costumes, audience, applause and the excitement that accompanies effective teamwork and accomplished goals. We encourage all of our students to participate!  However, students must be 3 years old by Dec. 31st, 2012 in order to participate in the recital.

*Recital Handbooks will be given out in the spring to answer all of your recital related questions and so that you will have all important information (dates, times, etc.) in one convenient place.

*The Turning Pointe reserves the right to refuse any student participation in the recital without refund of monies paid due to extreme and excessive absences.

Recital Fee

All students/families participating in the June recital must pay a $50 recital fee.  We realize that times are tough for everyone, and we know that all extra expenses are difficult. Unfortunately, however, we have found that the costs for putting on a production of the size and quality that our students and their families have grown accustomed to are increasing every year. Ticket sales alone are no longer able to cover these costs, which include but are not limited to printing, sets, props, lights, janitors, sound + light technicians, and, of course, rental of the school itself for all rehearsals and show nights. We promise to continue to provide the same professionalism in our productions that our Turning Pointe families have come to expect, and we will give your dancers the most positive performance opportunity available. And you will not leave empty handed, for along with this fee each family will receive a recital DVD (you will select which performance you want towards the end of the year), and one Turning Pointe souvenir t-shirt (this is NOT the same as the commemorative recital shirt that can be purchased each year at the recital). Due by January 26th, 2013.  When you pay this fee, you are committing 100% to participating in the recital.  This fee is NON-REFUNDABLE, even if you decide to drop before the performance! 

Costumes

The Turning Pointe orders costumes for all students who participate in our annual June recital. It is automatically agreed upon that all students will participate in the recital, unless we are otherwise notified in writing in advance. Costume deposits are due by December 1st, 2012.  A $50.00 deposit per class is required. Costumes can range in price from $55.00- $85.00 a piece (not including accessories). Costume balances are due by March 28th, 2013, and costumes begin to arrive in May. Costume cancellations are not accepted after an order has been placed. Therefore, we cannot refund any costume deposits or balances. No exceptions!
