Competitive & Performing Lines
Our performance company is an intensive dance program intended for those students who have the desire and passion to advance their dance training along with other serious minded dancers. These dancers are ready to step into the world of competitions and outside performances over and above our annual studio recital.
Students accepted onto the dance lines attend competitions and conventions locally throughout the year, and also perform for different charity events within our community. In addition, it is possible that the company dancers could attend one national final event out of state, or could have a chance to perform at Disney or on a cruise ship. Our goal is to give the dancers opportunities to share their talents and love of dance, while at the same time working to benefit others and achieving great satisfaction in knowing that they have helped those who are less fortunate.
Students are selected by an audition process and, on rare occasions, by special invitation. Upon acceptance into the program, students are expected to meet the requirements needed to stay in the program (see below) and must be prepared for extra weekend rehearsals as we get closer to show or competition dates.
Our competitive/performing lines are a commitment made by both the student and the parent.
We offer all company members the opportunity to take part in various fundraisers in order to help offset the yearly costs of being a company dancer.
Our dancers have gone on to win scholarships to summer intensives, universities, and performing arts centers around the country, mainly because they became part of our intensive dance program!
Performing Company Lines – Level of Commitment
In addition to being selected through an audition process, you must…
- take at least 4 technique classes weekly (ballet, jazz, lyrical, or tap)
- take a weekly hip hop class
- take 2 company classes weekly (price is included in monthly company fee)
- attend all studio related master classes with special guests
- attend all competitions and conventions that the team will be going to
- continue your dance training through our summer programs
Pre Competition Team – Level of Commitment
In addition to being selected through an audition process, you must…
